May data updates and two new indicators on energy consumption!

This month we have added two  new indicators on energy consumption to Local Insight. We have also updated all the monthly and quarterly datasets from the Department of Work and Pensions.

New Energy datasets

We have added:

  • Estimated total domestic gas consumption in megawatt hours (Mwh)
  • Estimated total domestic electricity consumption in megawatt hours (Mwh)

Both of these indicators are published by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and cover the calendar year of 2015. This is the latest small area level data published on gas and electricity consumption.

Data could be used for:

  • Targeting
  • Examining trends over time
  • Assessing the effectiveness of carbon reduction and energy efficiency policies and initiatives.

For more information see this fact sheet.
